ChemSec updates SIN List

13 February, 2018

In February 2018, ChemSec updated the SIN List. The SIN List is an NGO driven project consisting of chemicals that ChemSec have identified as Substances of Very High Concern (SVHCs) based on the criteria established by REACH. The SIN List is said to have a 90% match with the EU Member States Priority List and therefore provides a useful indication of possible future Candidate List substances.

The update adds 1 new substance that was included in the Candidate List in January 2018 and adds two new CAS numbers to the entry Dechlorane plus:

  1. Reaction products of 1,3,4-thiadiazolidine-2,5-dithione, formaldehyde and 4-heptylphenol, branched and linear (RP-HP) [CAS# 93925-00-9]
  2. anti- (or exo-)Dechlorane plus [CAS# 135821-74-8]
  3. syn- (or endo-)Dechlorane plus [CAS# 135821-03-3]
